Another day goes by and time for a 3rd review. I'm still having a blast. I've actually moved out of my Priestess comfort zone and rolled a Demonologist and an Assassin. I will give you the lowdown shortly. Up til now I have been, by all accounts very open-minded and fair, but I have found 2 issues that are rising to the top, one is really big, the other really isn't, but it's worthy of mention.

Ok the big one first. Please understand this comes from the perspective of someone who really really enjoys what she sees and is only concerned for the longevity of the game. Now I could be wrong here, but my best understanding was that this game was for "mature audiences". Now there's no way to make sure that adults are, or act mature, so I won't even go there. I have no issue with people being bawdy is a game like this, it's actually fitting to the flavor of the game. Even the NPCs get a little risque. -Read On

My first lengthy review received so much response and requests for more that I am going to tackle a 2nd day review. I hope you all find it as informative as the first one. Keep in mind I don’t hold myself out as an expert in any way and these are just opinions and feedback for anyone who finds it helpful. I‘m going to try not to repeat anything from my first review unless I have more info.

I’m still playing my Priestess of Mitra even though she’s 13th level. I’m trying to complete every available quest, and there sure are a lot of them! There may not be as many as it seems because I spend a lot of time trying to help people. The chat screen is fast and furious with people asking for help, people helping others, and people being slightly frustrated with those asking for help. There’s also a lot of discussion on computer hardware and whose machine is suffering less than the next. -Read The Full Review Here

As I begin, let me preface everything that follows by saying that I fully realize this is BETA and not a final version. My personal review,for anyone who cares, will include both positive and negative things I experienced, and while there are some aspects that weren’t thrilling, I do expect that things will change as the game goes live, I am merely giving my own opinions after just one day’s play.

I think I’ll also mention before my critiques that I have overall enjoyed myself and I see a lot of potential. I anticipate myself being in Hyboria for a long time. The guys at Valve are my heroes. Seriously, the Orange Box is a work of art on so many levels, it starts to feel divinely inspired. Who is this Gabe Newell, anyway?! After playing through the Half Life 2 sequels and Portal, the last piece of the package is Team Fortress 2, which is like the parting gift that keeps on giving. Team Multiplayer FPS being my favorite genre by far, I was of course excited to play it.

No one can dispute that TF2 is one of the most unique looking FPS games out there. In fact, I think they forged the way for style to exist in the genre, and proved that FPS games don't need to be photorealistic to work. Valve's presentation at GDC this past February titled "The Illustrative World of Team Fortress 2" really shows that they had a calculated strategy in doing something so different. It worked, and EA's already in the middle of cooking up their own cartoon Battlefield on the heels of TF2's success. It's great to see the industry continue to develop as an artform. -Read On
